The team behind Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 PC Brazil, the unofficial PC port of the PS5 Spider-Man game, has released a new version of it. This new version packs numerous fixes and visual enhancements, and below you can find a gameplay video from it. The aforementioned time of day feature was highly demanded in part due to Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s popular Photo Mode, as players have enjoyed capturing Peter and Miles in action in the previous games in the series. Fortunately, this feature has been added in the March 7 update, giving players better control over the game’s world after completing the campaign.

The plot points are outlandish, the themes muddy, and Miles doesn’t really have enough to do. None of that’s necessarily a dealbreaker, though—the real problem is the characters. Though not wildly different mechanically (they’re separated mostly by a different set of combat powers), the two do feel impressively different, largely thanks to top notch animation work and a commendable attention to detail. How much this dual protagonist feature actually adds to the game is a little questionable I think, but the execution is undeniably slick. You swing freely around New York, taking on whatever missions and activities you choose.

But from a project this obviously big and expensive, it all feels disappointingly undercooked. All of this contributes to fighting back against crime in each district of New York, a city now twice the size of what we’ve seen before including the leafy residential roads of Queens and the bustling borough of Brooklyn. There are 14 unique districts, each with its own set of objectives to complete before you can unlock fast travel to that part of the map. Gliding is especially great for crossing long distances thanks to the numerous wind tunnels that carve their way through New York’s seemingly endless grid of streets flanked by art deco architecture and modern mirror-like skyscrapers. Of g28 , a hero is nothing without its villains, and Spider-Man’s rogues gallery is almost unparalleled.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the most anticipated action-adventure games, bringing the thrilling world of Spider-Man to life with stunning graphics and immersive gameplay. And sure, more of what came before does mean that Spider-Man 2 retreads less successful ground, like the first game’s buzz-killing science puzzles. However, the good far outweighs the bad, and a few new gameplay mechanics freshen up aspects of both traversal and combat. Altogether, it’s a great game and one well worth seeing all the way through from its bombastic beginning to its emotional end.

Following the conclusions of their respective solo adventures they’re now a tight-knit crime-fighting duo, but both are predictably still struggling to juggle their superhero callings with their personal responsibilities. It’s hard not to feel, though, that Peter’s inability to hold down a job or progress his relationship with MJ feels a little higher stakes than Miles… procrastinating over his college application? Standard open-world filler activities are here aplenty, and that’s one area where Spider-Man 2 hasn’t moved with the times or shown ambition at all. Collectibles, photo opportunities, and rather basic street crimes are still here and, despite having a few slightly more interesting quirks this time around, they only very occasionally excite.
